Association of Social Science Researchers (ASSR)

About ASSR

ASSR brings together people interested in social science, people learning about social science, as well as people who are social science researchers. Our membership is diverse, and comes from a broad range of sectors such as:

The committee is based in Wellington.

The main functions of ASSR are to provide an avenue for networking, to advocate on behalf of the social sciences and to make submissions.

A monthly newsletter is sent to members containing a wide range of items of particular interest to social science researchers. The newsletter also includes book reviews, recent publications, letters to the editor, news of conferences, social science job vacancies, work in progress, conference reports and a calendar of forthcoming conferences and seminars.

A seminar is generally held on a topic of interest to social science researchers on the first Wednesday of each month, and a summary of this appears in the following newsletter.
